  • Both the opens and shorts are intermittent in many cases.
  • Replaced lamp socket and problem fixed.
  • If there isn't 12 volts at pin 13 of the switch then check for 12 volts at pin 11 of the switch (orange/black wire) if there is 12 volts at pin
  • Rear left license plate light shorted out. 2 out of 2 people think this is helpful.
  • If you don't find either condition, there is/are some component failure somewhere.
