Their mice are always garbage. I suspect the wire would get in the way, the mouse is small and low; your fingers drape all over it. It also gives my mouse a home. Apple has a pattern of not implementing new features in older devices in order to get people to adopt the new device. Apple Mouse Really, the charging port on the bottom of the mouse isn’t a problem—but sometimes people need any excuse to be outraged over Apple products. At least one discussion thread deals with the problem that the Magic Mouse has when working in conjunction with the Apple Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard. The magic mouse will run on any size AA battery. (either one or two.) But, there are no Lithium rechargeable batteries made in AA size. So most such devices simply wait for the battery to drop below a specified voltage, before alerting the user. My Magic mouse keeps telling me that it is low battery and I need to change it or it'll turn off, which it did a couple of times. Some equipment just isn't happy with the lower voltage (I have a handheld GPS that works but never shows the batteries as fully charged).
